President's Letter
 As you will see elsewhere in the Newsletter, recruitment efforts are underway for two important positions within NNCA. Toni Lebel-Edmonds has served as the Chair of the Membership, Recruitment and Retention Committee for 7 years, and is ready to turn over the position to a successor. She’s gained many insights into the founding of NNCA and the efforts taken over the years to continue its growth, and developed important strategies to further NNCA’s membership. Recruitment efforts are also beginning for a new Executive Director - a five year commitment. Carlos Torres will finish his term in spring 2013, with some overlap to orient his successor. This position is crucial to the smooth functioning of our organization, as the Executive Director manages NNCA’s day to day operations, allowing the Board of Directors and Committee Chairs to focus on projects and long term goals. If you are interested in a position crucial to NNCA’s viability, give Carlos a call; he has a superb handle on the job.
Pat Sovich and Maria Rossi are making progress on an updated inventory of the items in our Memorabilia collection, using recently purchased PastPerfect software. Working with the vendor, they’ve converted the old database into this more useful product, which can also hold an inventory of the oral histories that Madeline Ancelard has obtained. These efforts will improve management of our historic collection, one strategy of the Historic Preservation Strategic Goal.
