On Wednesday and Thursday while the board meets, tours will include an Old Town Trolley tour of San Diego. You can also hop a San Diego Trolley near the hotel and visit Old Town or take the line all the way to downtown and the San Diego Bay.
On Wednesday evening a welcome cocktail reception will be held on the multi-leveled terraces surrounding the pool. A flowing waterfall adds to the South Pacific island atmosphere and groupings of comfortable furniture provide great conversation areas. Aloha island-wear is encouraged.
The skyline has changed since the last reunion and several new tourist venues have been added including the MIDWAY aircraft carrier museum, Bob Hope memorial and PETCO Stadium, the new home of the San Diego Padres.
A special tour is being planned later in the week to the Naval Medical Center to visit the Comprehensive Combat & Complex Casualty Care (C5) program where our returning wounded warriors are receiving state of the art care and rehabilitation. In conjunction with that tour, there will be an opportunity to visit the former Navy Hospital chapel which now serves as an active Veterans Memorial & Museum.
Our Memorial Service will be held Friday morning at the hotel, followed by the Awards Luncheon. A continental breakfast precedes the NNCA Annual Meeting on Saturday morning. The afternoon is free for tours or exploring on your own. A cocktail reception and sit down banquet will be held in the ballroom on Saturday evening.
