South Central Navy Nurse Corps Association (SCNNCA)
SCNNCA received its charter from the NNCA in 2000. Unique in the NNCA, we are composed predominantly of reserve nurse corps officers, as there are very few active duty postings in our geographic region (Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arkansas). We are seeking active duty and former Nurse Corps officers to join us in promoting the NNCA in our region.
Membership: Is open to all retired, active duty, former active duty and reserve nurse corps officers. It is required that chapter members be members of NNCA. We currently have approximately 35 chapter members.
Meetings: A general membership meeting is held each spring in conjunction with the Annual Captain Karen Meehan Nursing Symposium.
Chapter Dues: SCNNCA membership dues are $20 a year. Members are encouraged to submit payment along with NNCA National dues each spring.
Chapter Mission/Projects: The mission of SCNNCA is to foster friendship, affinity, rapport and cordial relations among former, retired, active and reserve Navy Nurse Corps officers. We promote social activities, and sponsor educational and professional development programs. Our major annual project is the Captain Karen Meehan Nursing Symposium held each spring.
